Day 1: CHIOS-ATHENS-BARCELONA (afternoon city tour)
Meeting at the airport and Departure from Chios to Athens with SKYexpress. Next meetingwith our partner in Athens and departure by flight to the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona.As soon as we get settled in our hotel, we immediately start the tour of this vibrant city. THEguided tour will start from the most traditional pedestrian street, the Rambla. We will walk in the beautifulalleys of the Gothic quarter, where we will admire the Cathedral lit up. Our photographerlens will capture the grandeur of Vasileos Square but also of Sant Jaume Square, where theCity Hall and the Palacio de la Generalitat. Our final stop is the bustling Royal Square, which withher series will take us through the local cuisine and traditional dishes. Through oneplenty of restaurants, cafes and bars, we choose the one that meets the taste & our travel plansexpectations. Overnight.
Day 2: BARCELONA (in-depth city tour)
Breakfast at our hotel and we immediately start our tour. Our today’s excursion is aboutBarcelona and its hidden treasures. Walking down the Rambla, its most famous pedestrian streetBarcelona with its flower market and its inexhaustible vibrancy, we will see the Monument dedicated toin Columbus, the Naval and Military Headquarters as well as the Maritime Museum (formerly the RoyalShipyards). We will not miss to visit the central food and fruit market "La Boqueria",in which you can try delicious local cured meats, as well as taste fresh fish andtapas. Next is the Lyric Stage, where the greatest tenors and sopranos have appearedworld, and the Palacio de la Virreina, Palace of the Viceroy, an 18th century Baroque building. On the roadus, we will meet the Canaletas fountain, where according to local tradition, whoever drinks water fromshe will return to Barcelona again. At the same time, it is a meeting point for her fansWarsaw football team to celebrate each new trophy. Afterwards, we will meet at the Plazade Catalunya, i.e. in the center of the city and at kilometer 0 of Catalonia as it is considered. The commercial onesstores will capture our interest, but not more than the original artwork Mural delbeso (Kiss Mural), officially called "The world is born in every kiss". From the tourwe in the Gothic quarter could not miss the Cathedral, a trademark of Barcelona,which is dedicated to Saint Eulalia and the Holy Cross, Vasileos Square, this monumental squaresurrounded by Gothic and Renaissance buildings, as well as the square of Sant Jaume, which is thepolitical center of Catalonia. Little by little we are transported to the new Barcelona, passing through itPort Vell Marina, Barceloneta, the old fishing village with beautiful beaches and the Olympic museum,to arrive at the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family). It is Antonio’s most important workGaudí, while it rightfully holds the title of the most visited monument in Barcelona. Then,we are going to cross the most beautiful and expensive avenue in the city, Paseo De Gracia, where andwe will meet its best hotels, its most famous fashion houses and bothmost famous houses of A. Gaudi, Casa Mila or Pedrera and Casa Batllo. Finally, passing through the PlazaEspana, we will admire the fountains of Montjuic and the Spanish Village, an outdoor architecturemuseum that is a miniature of traditional Spanish architecture from the 1929 exhibition.Going down the hill we will see the tourist port which is the first in the Mediterranean in number of passengers,the Olympic ring and Maremagnum, the city’s only shopping center with a 365 licensedays a year. Return to the hotel. Leisure. Overnight.
Day 3: BARCELONA (free day)Breakfast at the hotel and we have today free at our disposal to make the most of itexactly what we want. Without a doubt, we recommend a visit to Parque Guell (admission approx. €10), thepark designed by the architect A. Gaudi, the greatest exponent of Catalanof modernism, of great architectural interest. It is a huge balcony, decorated withcolorful marbles, mosaics and dragon fountains, from where one can enjoy coffeewith a view of the whole city of Barcelona. For the little kid hiding inside you, we suggest youvisit the Aquarium of Barcelona, one of the most important in Europe, its largest Parkcity "Parc de la Ciutadella", with its zoo, while don’t miss the famous CampNou stadium,which is the headquarters of F.C.Barcelona. For art lovers, the Picasso Museum and his MuseumSurrealist painter Juan Miro will be an unforgettable experience. In the evening we recommend hertraditional Flamenco performance. Surrender to its intense and passionate rhythm. The price is €35 inclspectacle and a glass of wine. Overnight.
Day 4: BARCELONA - CHIRONA - FIGURES
After breakfast at the hotel we will depart for the Historic city of Girona, where we will admireincluding the cathedral and the Jewish quarter. Free time to explorepicturesque alleys of the castle. Then we will visit Figueres, where the museum-theatre is locatedof the famous painter Salvador Dali. Indulge in the surreal atmosphere that the works exudefrom the first years of his artistic activity to the last years of his life.Leaving the museum, we suggest you visit the Catholic church of Ag. Paul.Admire its Gothic architecture with vaulted ceilings and the simplicity of the church. Back toBarcelona. Free time. For your meal, prefer local specialties, always accompanied by itmature, oaked wine of Catalonia. Return to Barcelona and free time. Overnight.
Day 5: BARCELONA – ATHENS-CHIOSEarly morning breakfast at the hotel. Just before we take off get some Churros, dearfried dough, with sugar but also hot melted chocolate and promise to return soon tothis city that enchanted you with its color, its intense pulses and its cultural wealth. Transitionat Barcelona airport and return flight to Athens. Then we will havedeparture from Athens to Chios with SKYexpress.
