Boarding the ship and at 06.15 we depart for Kavala. Arrival in the afternoon at the Port of Kavala (17:45) and transfer to our hotel. Arrangement in the rooms and free for a walk. Overnight.

After our breakfast, boarding the coach and departure to see the city of Xanthi. We will walk through the beautiful alleys of the old town where we will see many mansions and renovated neoclassical buildings. We continue to the city of Alexandroupolis, the capital of N. Evros and then we will visit to worship the Holy Dormition Monastery or "Our Lady of Evros". We continue to Komotini, a prosperous commercial and administrative center with a strong Muslim element where Christians and Muslims share it peacefully. Finally, we return back to Kavala and our hotel for rest. Free for a walk. Overnight.

Today we will have an optional excursion to THASSO. The boat departs from the port of Kavala where we will arrive after about 40 minutes. We will go around the island by coach and we will visit the Holy Monastery of Archangel Michael, which is located in the south-east of the island, around 33 km from Limenas. Women’s monastery, built steeply above the sea overlooking the Aegean and Mount Athos. A piece of Holy Helos is kept there, part of the nails of Christ’s crucifixion. We do not know exactly when the monastery was founded, but an official document of 1287 mentions it. In 1835, repairs were made, as evidenced by an inscription at the western entrance of the temple. In 1974, the first nuns came with a fellow monk and worked hard transforming the monastery that had been deserted. Return back to Kavala. Overnight.

Today after our breakfast, departure to visit the city of Drama where it is built on the southern foothills of Mount Falakrou. Then we will visit to worship the Monastery of Panagia Eikosifinissa, which is located on a large precipice of Mount Pangaios. We continue to Lake Kerkini and Alistratis Cave where it is one of the largest caves in Europe. Its rich decoration includes, in addition to huge stalactites and stalagmites in various colors and the rareeccentrics. Eccentrics or helictites are rare formations that are created by "defying" the laws of gravity and following irregular paths. The accessible corridors are 3 km long. about. The cave belongs to the network of caves of the Aggitis river gorge. We continue to visit the archaeological site of Philippi and finally return back to Kavala and our hotel for rest. Overnight.
11/09/2022After breakfast we will depart with our luggage to Thessaloniki with a stopover on the last leg of Halkidiki "ATHOS" where from there we will have an optional cruise and weather permitting by boat to enjoy Mount Athos even from afar. This unique monastic state with monuments of great national, historical, religious, secretarial and cultural value where since 1988 it has been included in the list of World Cultural Heritage Monuments. It includes twenty (20) Holy Monasteries and non-monastic institutions (autonomous part of the Greek state). Arrival in Thessaloniki and our toxenodoke, settling in the rooms and free for an evening walk in the co-capital. Overnight.
12/09/2022After breakfast we will depart with our luggage for the port of Piraeus where we will board the ship (departure 20:00) for our return back to Chios (4:15)...
